Do you decrypt or remove copy protection?

No, this is against the DMCA in the United States and may be restricted in other countries, so this is not a function of MediaGrabber.

Will MediaGrabber run in conjunction with any other software?

MediaGrabber is a Windows application that will happily co-exist alongside any other DVD windows software application

What sort of services can I deliver to my customers with MediaGrabber?

DVD to media servers, media centres, iPods and other portable devices is now a reality, in addition to pure data ripping to HD - store backup media to a hard drive,

What sort of charge can I place on such a service?

For DVD Video, the standard pricing is around £/$ /Euro 2.50 per ripped DVD.

What type of output devices are supported?

Any media server or protable device that can play ISO, Video_TS, H.264 , MPEG4, or MKV including all iOS devices from Apple

What robotics will it work with?

Any of our supported MF Digital hardware will run. It ships as standard with 7601XDPBR and 7602BR

What formats can I rip from?

DVD Video (plus, minus , Dual layer, DVD9 , region agnostic) , DVD Data , CD data, Blu ray

How many discs per hour?

7601 - 7 , 7602 - 14, 7604 - 30 - DVD only.

What format is natively stored on the hard drive?


Video TS hierarchy , VOB format files, or .iso.

What about AVI , WMV and other file formats?

MediaGrabber now includes dedicated H.264 MPEG4 encoders with built in presets for AppleTV, iPod, iPhone, XBOX360 , PS3 and generic outputs plus a simple to use scripting interface should you wish to customise your own output formats.For the high end user, MediaGrabber can automatically generate a MKV file from any DVD or BD in natove VC1 or MPEG4 format with embedded chapters.

Can I strip menus and subtitles?

Not natively in the MediaGrabber interface , as we first rip to VOB/m2ts files, but our encoding engine is set as standard to process the main movie only and larger additions (making of etc)

What type of metadata do I get back?

Cover art, director, title, lead actors, year of release and much more detailed metadata including UPC, publisher, cast list and much more.

How does the bar code facility work?

After the rip, MediaGrabber provides the option to 'clean' the metadata - at this point simply scan the UPC bar code from the DVD case and all metadata is retrieved on line instantly.

Can I fix the metadata?

Yup, just as above and you may simply key the data in.

Is there a list of compatible media servers?

Most major media servers are supported, added to weekly so please contact support for an updated list
