Metadata Entry

local database creation

Need to create your own local metadata database? AudioEntry is the answer.

AudioEntry is a desktop application to allow CD ripping companies to collate details of discs that they receive which have no on line records from the metadata providers. By keying these details into AudioEntry, metadata, including cover art is written to a database in either flat text or MS SQL which Ripstation can then use as its first preference lookup.

Key Features

  • Standalone Data entry module
  • Bar Code scanner for UPC entry
  • FreeDB data import
  • Hold details on frequently accessed discs for faster lookup
  • Key details on local discs to fill any metadata provider holes
  • Store higher resolution cover art
  • Groom and correct data in a centralised source
  • Build long term scalable metadata records.
  • Have the ability to edit current records

You’ll need to have Ripstation 4.2 or above and follow a few simple set up procedures – setting a central cover art store and a shared database connection – Ripfactory tech support can set this up remotely at point of install.

In use, AudioEntry is run on a separate dedicated PC with an attached USB bar code scanner. By setting Ripstation to reject all CD’s with no metadata you can simply start to collate discs that are not found on line. Simply insert each disc into the desktop running AudioEntry, scan the UPC code, enter in any missing or additional metadata and move on to the next disc with a single hot-key stroke. The record for this disc is then written to your database, which is then used as Ripstation’s first choice lookup source.

Ripstation AudioEntry is licensed on a per seat or site license as a cost effective module addition to Ripstation 4.2 or above and is available for immediate download.
